Anastasia Chernyavsky
Anastasia Chernyavsky was born in 1978 in Kazan, Russia.
At first, Photo for Anastasia was just a hobby, and she took photographs of her daughter Ethel, herself and the dog. Then she expanded the range of models, among which were included many musicians and other artists. Styusha(as her friends call her), musician by education, has a rare ability to combine the familiar with the exquisite to produce beauty on film. Each picture is a work of art, representing the emergence of a woman and the liberation of her soul.
Most of her works are shot on medium format film camera "Rolleiflex " 1956 edition.
She became known in 2013 when her series of self-portraits and her children, went viral in social media and the blogosphere, and subsequently censored by Facebook, with some commentators from the mainstream press comparing her compositions to neoclassical paintings, such as the "Madonna del Parto" of Piero della Francesca.
Chernyavsky currently resides in the San Francisco Bay area, with her husband and their two children. She often uses for her work the nom de plume Styush.
